Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt.
  2. Add the sourdough starter and warm water. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4-6 hours, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) with the Dutch oven inside.
  7. Shape the dough into a round and place it on a piece of parchment paper.
  8. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, and place the parchment with the dough inside. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
