Cheesy Baked Ziti

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add ground beef. Cook until browned.
  4. Add garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning to the skillet. Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine cooked ziti, marinara mixture, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, and half of the parmesan. Mix well.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • Let the dish sit for 10 minutes before serving for easier slicing.
