Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter and powdered sugar until creamy.
  4. Add peppermint extract and the flour mixture; mix until combined.
  5. Divide dough in half, color one half with red food coloring.
  6. Roll out small pieces of each dough and twist them together to form a cane shape.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and sprinkle with candy decorations.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.

Notes

  • For a stronger peppermint flavor, increase the peppermint extract to 1.5 teaspoons.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
